M.A. Lathrop, 65, of No. 1 Dimit, Phillips was pronounced dead on arrival at North Plains Hospital this morning after suffering a heart attack at his home.

Lathrop had been employed by Phillips Petroleum Company for 31 years prior to his retirement last year.

He is survived by his wife of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Paul Robinson of Borger, Mrs. S.B. Williams of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Mrs. N.E. Engle of Roswell, New Mexico, Mrs. W.D. Tilbury of McComb, Oklahoma, and Mrs. James Conner of Bemidji, Minnesota; two brothers; one sister; and eight grandchildren.

The body is resting at the Minton Funeral Home pending final funeral arrangements.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church for M.A. Lathrop, 65, who died yesterday morning from a heart attack at his home in Phillips.

The Rev. Rawlins Cherryhomes, pastor of the First Christian Church will officiate and burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery of Pampa under the direction of Minton Funeral Home.

Casket bearers will be Ray Adams, Kenneth Crownover, Arthur Anderson, Paul Richardson, Frank Brown, and V.L. Sons.
