Mrs. Bowie attended Lincoln High School Kansas City, MO. She came to Christ as a child and was a member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church for more than fifty years. She loved and trusted the Lord and served Him by witnessing to the elderly with the Nursing Home Ministry, singing in the church choir and teaching Vacation Bible School. Last year when her health began to fail, Mrs. Bowie moved to Omaha, NE to live with her daughter.
On December 1, 2011, Mrs. Bowie entered eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Harris and Raymond Harris; sister, Helen Harris brother and her husband of forty-six years, Robert V. Bowie, Jr.
Lorraine leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Anthony L. Bowie of Kansas City, MO, Steve V. Bowie (Cynthia), Kansas City, MO and Michelle Buggs (Ronnie), Omaha, NE; grandson, Ronnie L. Buggs, Jr., Omaha, NE; granddaughters, Morgan D. Buggs, Houston, TX and Natausha A. Bowie, Kansas City, MO; brother, Elmer Harris, Sr. (Peggy), Lee's Summit, MO and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and many, many friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 9, at 10:00 a.m. at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on this website.
