WESTON - Margaret Elizabeth Bailey Covey, 85, of Weston died Aug. 21, 1998, in Crestview Nursing Home, Jane Lew, after a long illness. She was a homemaker, a physical education teacher at Sophia High School and Woodrow Wilson High School, and was a substitute teacher in Lewis County for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Weston, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 40, Weston, Daughters of the American Revolution, and West Virginia University Emeritus Club. Surviving: husband, Thomas H. Covey; son, Thomas H. Jr. of Morgantown; daughters, Myra Jo White of Fort Ashby, Sharon Lindsey of Parkersburg; brother, Russell B. Bailey; sisters, Lottie Todd, Ethyle Jarvis, and Hallie Clarice Bailey; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Floyd Funeral Home, Weston, with Pastor Kent Lowther officiating. Burial will be in Weston Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to West Virginia University Foundation General Scholarship Fund.
