Hattie was the daughter of William and Susan (Verrall) Wheeler. She was born in Ontario, and moved to Tuscola County, Michigan, with her family when she was 17. She taught for a while at the Dillman School west of Cass City. She married Alvin David Beach on June 9, 1904. They had four children together, Eva, Leslie, Keith, and Clayton. Hattie was 80 years old when she passed away.
