About 20 years ago, Mr. Benjamin Gardner, a son of the late Samuel Gardner, met with an accident whereby the skull was fractured near the crown of the head. He recovered, but of late years he has been troubled with severe pains in the head, caused by the skull being depressed and bearing upon the brain. Recently he placed himself under treatment at the hands of a Cincinnati surgeon, and a piece of the skull was sawed out and relief thus obtained. The piece taken out is about the size of a common candy lozenge. Mr. Gardner is now visiting his mother and sisters on Sixth Street.

Benjamin Gardner's Remains Will Reach here Wednesday
Benjamin Gardner, a one time well known resident of Coshocton, died in Pittsburgh Monday. The remains will be brought here Monday at noon and services will be conducted at Pak Ridge cemetery by Rev. D. Hunt.
Mr. Gardner was at one time an employee of the Houston Hay Company, and left here for Pittsburgh where he was seized by consumption. Complicated with this was brain trouble and death resulted. He was the son of Samuel Gardner and his mother now resides in Brooklyn. The Messrs Mirise are his cousins.

Brought Here For Burial -- Well Known in Coshocton and Roscoe Several Years Ago
Benjamin Gardner, a son of the late Samuel Gardner, a former well know resident of this city and Roscoe, died at Pittsburgh, last Monday, of consumption. The remains were brought to this city Wednesday and interred in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Rev. Wm B. Hunt conducting the funeral exercises at the grave.
Ben, as he was familiarly termed in the years gone by, was well and favorably known in this city and Roscoe, where his boyhood days were passed and he grew to manhood. He is still well remembered by many friends here, who learned of his death with regret. Relatives in Roscoe mourn his demise.
The remains were accompanied here by the deceased's sister, Mrs. Ed Blackburn of Steubenville and Miss Julia Gardner of Pittsburgh. At Oak Ridge Cemetery, Rev. W. B. Hunt spoke tenderly of the aged mother absent by reason of illness and prayed fervently for the members of the bereaved family. A great wealth of fragrant flowers were placed on the grave where peacefully sleeps poor "NUCK" Gardner.
