NORMAN, OKLA. - Bobby Wayne "Bob" Boatman, 56, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Little Cemetery in Little.

Mr. Boatman was born March 26, 1948, in Anadarko to Velma I. Simons Boatman and Robert H. Roel Boatman Jr. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in Amarillo, Texas, and attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas.

He served as a seabee with the Navy between 1968 and 1972 during the Vietnam conflict. Bob moved to Norman in 1972. In 1981, he started working as a carpenter for the University of Oklahoma and worked there for 23 years. He enjoyed building things, loved to spend time with his family and friends and followed the school activities of his niece and nephew. Bob enjoyed making new friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Robert H. Henry Boatman and Ella Odom Boatman and Walter Arthur Simons and Lena Fay Stine Simons.

Survivors include his mother of Norman; a sister, Ella Faye Lewis and husband, Greg, of Burkburnett, Texas; a niece, Sabrina Ann Lewis of Burkburnett; a nephew, Adam Jay Lewis of Burkburnett; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
