Mrs. Simmons was born July 19, 1922 in Baldwin Place, N.Y., a daughter of the late Percy and Florence (Cargain) Cuatt. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Simmons was known for her prize-winning needle crafting and baking, especially her mince meat pies.
She had been a resident of the New Milford area for the past 48 years. Mrs. Simmons will be sadly missed and kept in our prayers forever.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by her sister, Viola Smith of New York; sons Timothy and his wife Shirley, of Winsted, Kevin and his wife Donna, of Windsor and Ronald and his wife Robin, of Farmington; daughters Patricia Beatty of St. Petersburg, Fla., Paula Jeanne Turner of Baltimore, Md. and Maureen McBride and her husband Raymond, of Torrington; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son Bruce A. Simmons and daughter-in-law Linda Toby Simmons of Massachusetts.
Funeral service will be held in the Colonial Funeral Home, 87 Park Lane Road, New Milford, Conn. on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013. Burial will be in Roxbury Center Cemetery, Roxbury, Conn. Family will receive friends in the Colonial Funeral Home one hour preceding the service.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial donation be made to the New Milford Community Ambulance, P.O. Box 102, New Milford, CT 06776.
