Frances M. Burke, a lifelong
Mahopac resident and business
owner, died May 15, 1997, at
Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel.
She was 67, born July 23, 1929,
to the late Percy and Florence
Cuatt in Mahopac. Educated in
Mahopac schools, she was a graduate
of Mahopac High School. On Dec. 27,
1948, she married Donald J. Burke
Sr. in the Silver Lake section of
Harrison. The couple lived in
Mahopac. From 1980 until December,
Mrs. Burke ran her own business
and studio, Burke Ceramic in Mahopac.
In addition to her husband of
Mahopac, she is survived by a son,
Donald J. Jr. of Lake Carmel; a
daughter, Dolores Walsh of Mahopac;
five sisters, Agnes Blennis and
Viola Smith, both of Lake Carmel,
Jenny Simmons and Shirley Simmons,
both of New Milford, Conn. and Rose
Lieb of Mahopac; her stepfather and
3 grandchildren. Besides her parents,
she was predeceased by a brother,
Percy Cuatt Jr.
Burial was in Ballard-Barrett
Cemetery, Mahopac Falls.
