Perryville, Maryland -- Ella Ard Boxxe, 83, died Wednesday, May 10, 1995, at Citizens Nursing Home in Havre de Grace, Md.
She was born in Glennville and lived in Savannah from 1926 to 1973; she moved to Perryville to live with her son. She was retired from Morrison's Cafeteria in Savannah; before that she was a kitchen helper at Candler Hospital in Savannah.
Survivors: two sons, William Ard of Perryville and Frederick Ard of Edenton, N.C. a daughter, Ellen Hinze of Lake Elsinore, Calif., a sister, Katie Roberts of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Savannah.

Ella married William McDonald Ard at age 13. She had three children - William, Frederick, and Ellen. Her husband was killed in a motorcycle accident in Jasper County, South
Carolina in 1934. She raised her three children alone.
She married Harry Elton Boxxe in 12-24-1955 in Ridgeland, Jasper County, South Carolina. They divorced Feb 24, 1963 in Savannah, Georgia.
Ella worked as a kitchen helper in Candler
hospital. Then she worked in Morrison's Cafeteria in Savannah until her retirement.
