Harry Elton Boxxe

Harry Elton Boxxe, 49, of 7 E. 38th Street, died Friday morning at Memorial Hospital after a long illness. The native of Effingham County was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple. He was a deputy at the Effingham County jail for several years and was a member of the Peace Officers Association.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Eloise Anderson Boxxe; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Harry Joseph Boxxe; two sisters, Mrs. Joe B. Sanders of Winter Park, Fla. and Mrs. L. E. DeWitt of Pooler; three brothers, W. Everett Boxxe, George M. Boxxe, and Johnny D. Boxxe, all of Pooler; three stepsons, David Newton of Savannah, Donald Newton of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Jack Newton of Germany; and several nieces and nephews.

Fox and Weeks Funeral Home is in charge.

Funeral Services for Mr. Boxxe will be held in the First Baptist Church in Pooler, Ga. at 4 p.m., Saturday, with the Rev. John W. Clark officiating. Interment Gravel Hill Cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 2.p.m. to lie in state until time for the services. Pallbearers will be Elmo Fields, W. S. Helmey, W. B. Lewis, Sam Elkins, Horace Tison, Roger Morgan, Fox & Weeks Funeral Home.
