The funeral for Frances Josephine Brune, 87, of Lambert, will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Lanman Funeral Home chapel, Cherokee. The Rev. Carolyn Murrow will officiate. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday.

She was born Dec. 18, 1920, near Dacoma to William W. and Myrtle F. Fox and died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at her home.

She attended Keystone grade school and graduated from Lambert High School. She married Jesse J. Wilkinson July 16, 1939, in Cherokee. They made their home in Lambert until 1940, then moved to California. During World War II, she worked for Western Pipe and Steel as a tack welder in the shipyards. They returned to Lambert in 1946 and bought Lambert Grocery. He died Nov. 11, 1946. She married Herman Brune Dec. 18, 1948, in Lambert. She closed the grocery in 1969 and worked at the Cherokee hospital until she retired in 1992. He died May 31, 2001.

Surviving are two daughters, Karen Polly and Saundra Boyd; two sons, Ronnie Brune and Franklin Brune; three sisters, Harriet Farriester, Eva Mae Stout and Opal Mudd; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren

In addition to her husbands Jesse and Herman, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
