She was born on Jan. 4, 1919, in Butte, the daughter of Bernard and Cora (Weyhe) McManamon.
Ellen was educated in local schools. She married Gene Maloy in Butte on Oct. 18, 1942. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was loved by her family very much. Ellen loved to go fishing and camping with Gene and all their friends. A devout Catholic, family, friends, and faith were the most important things in her life.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene; her brothers, Harold, Lawrence, and Joe; and her nephew, Joe McManamon.
Surviving relatives include her daughter and son-in-law, Arleen and Jim Nichols of Whitehall; grandchildren, Dan Nichols, Rick Nichols and Rae Lynn Patch; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Linda McManamon, Harold and Joan McManamon, and Joanne and Bill Gerry of Butte; and her sister-in-law, Enid Maloy of California.
Friends are asked to join the family after 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Ann's Catholic Church. Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at noon, with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Garden, near Fairmont. T
