Eugene Magnus Maloy died Wednesday in St. James Healthcare.

He was born Feb. 26, 1922, in Salt Lake City. He attended schools in California, and later joined the Ringling Brothers Circus as a clown and made his way to Butte.

He married Ellen Lorraine McManamon Oct. 18, 1942, in Butte. They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.

Eugene worked in the Butte mines, Anaconda smelter, and the concentrator.

He loved camping, fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Earl, and sisters Elva and Tana.

Survivors include his wife, daughter, son-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, two nephews, niece, three grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-nieces and -nephews [survivor's names omitted].

Relatives and friends may call between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the Duggan Dolan Chapel for visitations. Prayer services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. from the mortuary chapel. Interment follows in Sunset Memorial Park.
