May was a member of St. Lawrence Church, Albion Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and Women of the Moose. She was a life member of the Albion Area Chamber of Commerce. Before her retirement, she owned and operated Alexander's Restaurant in Albion for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace G. Alexander, on Jan. 28, 1970; and a sister, Victoria Swaney.
Survivors include a daughter, Cecilia Boyer and her husband, Thomas, of Albion; three sons, Richard Alexander of Port Allegheny, Wallace "Buster" Alexander Jr. (d January 14, 2012 age 75) and his wife, Irene, of Albion, and David Alexander and his wife, Sandra, of Chardon, Ohio; a sister, Lucille Moyer of Conneautville; two brothers, Frank Malena and his wife, Peggy, of Erie, and Salvatore Malena and his wife, Anne, of Albion; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Albion Cemetery.
