Marie was an MP in the U.S. Army. She was a co-owner of "Penny's" Pride Gas Station in Aurora, IL and retired after 20 years from Carson Pirie Scott where she worked in Loss Prevention. Marie loved gardening and enjoyed puzzles. Her favorite place was the ocean. Marie was a very hard working but most of all, she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Marie is survived by her husband, Marlin R. Pennington of Sandwich, IL; her sons, Mark (Margaret) Pennington of Geneva, IL and Rick (Carrie) Pennington of Sheridan, IL; her daughters, Toni (Tony) Blasingame of Midland, TX, Kathy (Gary) Patterson of Montgomery, IL and Michelle (Jon) Rippinger of North Aurora, IL; her twin sister, Loretta (Frank) Thomas of Portland, Maine; a brother, Leo Dumais of Oswego, IL; 19 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Her parents; her daughter, Judy Anne Pennington; a granddaughter, Kelly Nichole Mazza; a great grandson, Joshua Jex; and a brother, Roland Dumais preceded her in death.
Visitation Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery from 4 to 8 PM. Service Wednesday at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment at River Hills Cemetery in Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated for the American Lung Association, 1749 S. Naperville Rd., Wheaton, IL, 60187.
