INDEPENDENCE - Norvell was born in Royal, Arkansas to Arthur R. Braziel and Minnie Ruth Cunningham.

He moved to the Willamette Valley with his family in 1945 and married Myrna J. Hedrick on Nov. 3, 1951 in Vancouver, Wa. They settled in Independence, Ore where they raised their children. Norvell went to work at Georgia Pacific and then Boise Cascade where he retired in 1996. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and after retirement he spent his spare time gardening and woodworking where he took ribbons at the Polk County Fair.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Michael A. Braziel and siblings Velda J. Kessel and James A. Braziel.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Myrna of Independence; two daughters, Nancy (Scott) Banks of Salem and Melodie Fournier of Vancouver, Wa; three granddaughters, Melissa Banks of Salem, Rachel and Courtney Fournier of Vancouver, Wa; brothers, Stanley Braziel of Salem, Charles (Marly) Braziel of Monmouth, Bobby (Sally) Braziel of Dallas and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held Thursday, January 10 from 2 to 4 pm at Farnstrom Mortuary. A graveside service will follow on Saturday, January 19 at 1 pm at Hilltop Cemetery. Memories at www.FarnstromMortuary.com.
