He was born December 14, 1930 in Balfour, NC to the late Thelma Lee (Allen) and Thomas E. Capps, and has resided in Billerica since 1959.
Mr. Capps served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean War. He owned and operated a welding business for many years.
He was an usher and communicant at St. Andrew's Church in North Billerica, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Wren Council.
He enjoyed hunting with family, and was a member of the NRA and GOAL.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Thomas Capps III and his wife, Diane of Pelham, NH, John Capps and his wife, Karen of AZ, Charles Capps and his wife, Karen of Amherst, NH, Paul Capps and his wife, Elizabeth of Phillipston, Michael Capps and his wife, Tara of Templeton; six daughters, Marie Chisholm of Wakefield, Angela R. Capps of Warren, ME, Diane Barletta and her husband, William of Groton, Christine Onthank and her husband, David of Groton, Linda Lynch and her husband, Thomas of Litchfield, NH, and Elaine Capps of Billerica; one sister, Margaret Greco and her husband, Frank of Texas; three sisters-in-law, Grace Rinaldi, Concetta Hines, and Anna Gullifa and her husband, Joseph; 26 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Joseph Capps who died in 1982.
