The violent death toll for l938 mounted to 99 yesterday with the death from burns of Patricia Ann Capps, four-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Capps, of ll5 Ridge Street, Mills Mill, but the figure still was far behind that for last year.
Coroner George W. McCoy's records showed that there had been l27 fatalities from violence through December 22, l937.
The Capps child was burned about the body last Saturday morning when her clothing caught fire as she stood in front of an open fireplace in her home. She died at 6:l2 o'clock yesterday morning. This was the l2th fatality from burns in Greenville county this year.
