Mary Layne Wright, age 100 of the Brian Center in Low Moor and formerly of Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Friday January 4, 2013 at Lewis Gale Hospital - Alleghany. Born May 12, 1912 in Botetourt County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Joshua William Layne and Fannie Bell Sweet Layne. She was a member of the Central Advent Christian Church, worked as a seamstress at the former C & O Laundry and was a loving family member. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Wright, four sisters Ella L. Sweet, Mae Coffey, Nellie Ann Layne, and Dorothy Bradner, five brothers George Layne, Joe Layne, Buck Layne, Billy Layne and Thomas Layne and a niece Amy Layne Brogan. She is survived by two sisters Virginia Layne Nicely and Grace Layne Vess both of Clifton Forge, and a host of Nieces and Nephews. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Alleghany Memorial Park with the Reverend Gene Peters officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home. Arrangements are being handled by Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
