Lana Gladys Felts Ates, 92, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be Friday, January 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Jackson.

Mrs. Ates was a member of Family Church of God in Pearl. She was a homemaker most of her life until obtaining her practical nursing license to help her parents run their family owned nursing home.

Mrs. Ates was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Minerva Felts; husband, W.T. Ates; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters.

She is survived by her son, Tim Ates (Susan); daughter Beverly Ates Cochran (William); grandchildren, Eric Cochran (Karen), Angela Ates Robinson (Aaron), Christian Ates (Cristel), Joey Ates (Jessica), and Beth Ates; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in remembrance of Mrs. Ates to the American Heart Association.
