Cleo Laney Abernathy, age 78, of Catawba passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Carillon Assisted Living. Born August 16, 1934 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Paul Laney and Beatrice Beal Laney. Cleo was a member of Catawba United Methodist Church and the Catawba Chapter 124 Order of Eastern Star.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at11:00 a.m. at Catawba United Methodist Church in Catawba with Rev. Rich Tuttle officiating.
Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory with the Order of Eastern Star of Catawba Chapter 124.
Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Abernathy family.
