Doris Jean McBryde Boast, 82, of White Hall died at home Thursday, November 29, 2012.

Born in Conway, Arkansas March 31, 1930, a daughter of James Grady and Thelma Lee Moore McBryde,

she has been a resident of Jefferson County since 1940. A 1948 graduate of White Hall High School,

she married Virgil Palmer Boast December 12, 1947 in Pine Bluff.A homemaker, she was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, Bethany Senior Church Citizens, and their Berean Sunday School Class, the White Hall Herb and Flower Garden Club, and the White Hall Museum Board. Previously, she served as secretary of her Sunday School Class, Bethany Senior Citizens group, and as a member of the White Hall Parks Commission.

Her survivors include her husband; four daughters, Thressia Smith (Larry) of the Hardin Community, Dorothy Hays (Barry) of Covington, Georgia, Jeannie McCarroll (Tommy) of the Hardin Community, Becky Harris (Evan) of Conyers, Georgia; sister, Billie Howell of Calimesa, California; eight grandchildren, Jerry W. Smith (Laura), Angela Newcomb (Ken), Richard Hays, Tammy Doss (Michael), Mark McCarroll (Carole), Nick Harris (Laura), Bonnie Harris, and William Harris; and nine great-grandchildren, Anna Claire Smith, Sawyer Smith, Jay Newcomb, Max Newcomb, Blake Jordan, Travis Doss, Andrew Wheeler, Aaron Wheeler, and Austin Wheeler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; the father who raised her, W. A. Martin; and a sister, Dorothy Moran.

Services are Saturday, December 1, 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Williams officiating.

Interment follows at Memorial Park Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son.

Visitation is Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Robinson's.
