Mrs. Abercrombie, Church Worker, Dies at Home

Mrs. W. A. Abercrombie of 2525 Lanark Rd., active church worker, died yesterday at her residence. She was born in Anniston (AL) and lived in Birmingham for the past 48 years. Mrs. Abercrombie was an active member on the building committee of the Sixth Avenue Presbyterian Church in 1924. She also was a past president and secretary-treasurer of the church Women's Auxiliary and active in Sunday School. She was a member of the Kenilworth Literary Club. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Johns-Ridout's Church Chapel, Dr. Dale LeCount officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood (Cemetery). Survivors include the husband, W. A. Abercrombie; a son, R. Nelson Abercrombie; two brothers Wayne B. Nelson, Birmingham, and Olin F. Nelson, Orlando, Fla.; two grandchildren, Janelle Abercrombie, and R. Nelson Abercrombie, Jr., both of Birmingham.
