Deaconess Eula Ladd Armstrong -- A native of Monroe County and a resident of Prichard, AL for over 65 years passed this life Sunday, June 29, 2003 at a local hospital. She served as Deaconess at First Baptist Church of Prichard for many years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Deacon Julius Armstrong, Sr. She is survived by seven daughters, Barbara (Albert) Bunn, Eula (Robert) Howze, Tyra (Alvin) West, Sr., Deloris (John) Cade, all of Whistler, AL, Mattie (Reginald) Sullivan of Mobile, Jennifer Armstrong and Martha Armstrong, Prichard, AL; two sons, Louis Armstrong of Prichard and Julius Armstrong, Jr. (Leila) of Mobile; one devoted sister in law, Mattie Kirk; two brothers in law, Ernest Armstrong and Dan Armstrong of Mobile; ten grandchildren, one very devoted granddaughter, Tracie Pate and grandson, Maurice Armstrong, both of Mobile, AL; devoted family members, the Ladds and Kirks; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home Friday, July 4, 2003 from 12:00 until 5:00 PM and after 9:00 AM Saturday, July 5, 2003 at First Baptist Church of Prichard, 213 N. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at which time the funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Walter Bracy, Pastor. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Arrangements by CHRISTIAN BENEVOLENT FUNERAL HOME, 201 N. Hamilton St., Mobile, AL 36603.
