Clarence "Pete" Anderson, 71, 2205 New York, died Tuesday in Ball Memorial Hospital. Mr. Anderson was born in Henry County. He spent his childhood in the Selma area and attended Selma schools.

He was employed more than 31 years by Chevrolet-Muncie (now Hydra-matic Division of General Motors), before retiring in 1979. He belonged to the Avondale Sympathy Club and United Workers Local 499. He served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Anderson attended Riverside Methodist Church, and was a member of the AA class at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Bundy Anderson, four brothers, Gerald "Hunt" Anderson, Selma, Arthura A. Anderson, Wolcottville, Robert Anderson, Greenwood, and Howard Anderson, Muncie, two sisters, Mary L. Barratt, Selma, and Grace Davidson, Richmond, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, north of Muncie. Family will receive callers at the mortuary 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be sent to Riverside United Methodist Church or Delaware County Heart Fund.
