Maureen Clare Feeney was born July 13, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of Donald J. and Mary Clare (McCarthy) Feeney. She was a 1950 graduate of Immaculate Conception Academy, ICA in Davenport. Maureen was united in marriage to Robert J. Frandsen on April 19, 1952, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. Robert preceded her in death May 3, 2005.
Maureen was an active member of Our Lady of the River Catholic Church. Throughout their life, she and Bob shared a tremendous commitment to Catholic education. As a lifelong learner, Maureen inspired her children and grandchildren through her curiosity. She was an enthusiastic and inquisitive traveler, gardener, and shared a deep appreciation for history, the arts and the outdoors. After raising 10 children, Maureen enjoyed her work with McCarthy Interiors, as well as memberships in Antique Study Club, book club, several bridge clubs and a Mahjong group.
Maureen is survived by her children and spouses, Chris and Deborah, Katie and Joe Bush, Tim and Renea, James (Cathy Gripp), Joe and Lisa, Lt. Commander Don and Becka, Mike and Krista, Tom and Liz, Maureen "Missy" and Alan Barchman, and Matt and Alisa; a daughter-in-law, Marie Frandsen; 20 amazing grandchildren; sister, Mimi (Alec) Fredrickson; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Bempke, and Sally Feeney.
In addition to her husband Bob, she was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Christopher Matthew, her brother, Tommy Feeney, and a brother-in-law, Norbert Bempke.
