LeCLAIRE, Iowa - Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Robert J. Frandsen, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa, formerly of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2005, at Our Lady of the River Catholic Church, LeClaire, Iowa. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be today at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, from 3 until 7 p.m. There will be a Christian Wake service offered at 7 p.m.
Bob died on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at his residence in LeClaire following an extended illness. Robert Joseph Frandsen was born August 26, 1930, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Edgar and Charlotte (Shanley) Frandsen. He was united in marriage to Maureen C. Feeney on April 19, 1952, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. He served his country in the United States Navy. He had worked with his father as owner operator for Frandsen Excavating Company, Davenport. He then retired from Linwood Mining & Minerals, in 2001 Memorials can be made to the K-12 Embracing Our Future Fund or to Our Lady of the River Haiti Mission Parish Fund. Survivors include his wife, Maureen; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Deborah, Tim and Renea, James and Marie, Joe and Lisa, Lt. Don and Becka, Mike and Krista, Tom and Liz, and Matt and Alisa, and daughters and sons-in-law, Kate and Joe Bush and Maureen "Missy" and Alan Barchman; 18 grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Barb (Norb) Bempke; brother-in-law, Tom (Sally) Feeney; and sister-in-law, Mimi (Alec) Fredrickson.
