From the cemetery map, located on the east wall of the Maintenance cottage, this is the Bethany German Reformed Church Cemetery, Baxter, Iowa.

The first burial was Friederika Krampe, born 10 Apr 1800 and died 10 Mar 1872. Next to be buried was Anna Hahne in 1875. From then on the members were buried in line as they died with no regard to families. Mathilda Hermsmeier was the last be be buried in line in 1911.

In 1947, the Bethany Church burned and most of the cemetery records were destroyed. The records have been recreated as accurately as possible. In 1968, a stone marker was erected where the center gate had once been.
