Over the years, the cemetery grew from several family sections into its current size. The Muske Section was one of the first, using land donated by John F. Muske, who was a member of the German Methodist Church. Around 1939, the Pattison Methodist Church and the German Methodist Church combined. The German Methodist Church buildings were next to the cemetery at that time and once the two Churches combined, the buildings from the German Methodist Church became the Christ Lutheran Church which explains the location not being next to the Methodist Church. Prior to this merger, the Lutherans meet at various member houses in the area. John Herman Kitzmann was one of the founders of the Christ Lutheran church on December 14, 1890.
Later, more families added sections to the cemetery which included the Buller and Peter Wilpitz families. These sections have been referred to in newspapers and death certificates as the Muske, Buller, Wilpitz and Lutheran Cemetery, but in reality, they are all sections to the current cemetery known as the Pattison Methodist Cemetery.
Various contributors have photographed all the memorials for this cemetery as of 3/2017.
