Hiram W. Jordan gave five acres to be used for a cemetery around 1860. This cemetery was first called "Graves". Slaves are buried on the north side, but have no markers. (Ref.: Mrs. A. L. The entrance is off of Brown Road and lies on a narrow ridge of land between two ravines.
