The Coldstream run was taken up by the Studholme brothers in 1867, among the earliest settlers in the Canterbury area. The property is still owned and run by the Studholme family descendants.

Part of this land was originally intended for a church.

The building known as The Whare, built in 1914, had previously served as the station cookhouse, feeding staff and shearers, but in 1920 it became the community centre for Coldstream, housing the library, playcente and church, and more recently as private accommodation.

The Coldstream run was taken up by the Studholme brothers in 1867, among the earliest settlers in the Canterbury area. The property is still owned and run by the Studholme family descendants.
