This Presbyterian, and later Unitarian Chapel, was in the centre of Bradford on Toad Lane/Chapel Lane. Before the extension to the Town Hall was built, Chapel Lane ran from Bridge Street to the bottom of Manchester Road. The foundation stone was laid on Tuesday 25 February 1868, and the chapel was opened on 3 June 1869. It replaced an earlier chapel built in 1717 or 1718 on the same site. The old gateway from the entrance to the old chapel yard was to be removed to Peel Park, Bradford in 1867
