Add PhotosCalled Midway Station because it was midway between Captain Nelse Valleaux's station near the Knees to the south, and Fort Conrad on the Marias River to the north. James W. Gladden was issued a land claim patent in the early 1900's for property in Township 27N - Range 2E, which included Mr. Bivens' stopping place. As far as is known, he is the only person buried there, but it isn't known if any grave markings exist.
