The vaults and other graves were destroyed by vandals in 1915

Circa 1940's The state of North Carolina ran the "New Road" through the cemetery.

Per Thomas Leslie Goodwin, The "New Road" ran right through his families burying ground. It was near the lane that led to the gates of the Job Goodwin Plantation
