The cemetery is located on the north side of Harvard Street between Clifton Street and Poplar
Avenue. The property has never been vacated and is referred to, on the currant tax map, as the "Old
German Cemetery".It appears as a seemingly vacant lot and is badly over grown. I have located a few tomb stone fragments.
The church records begin in October of 1877, there are no known records for the cemetery
between the years 1872, when the cemetery began and 1877, when the records start. Since St. Joseph started in 1850, twenty two years before the cemetery came into existence parishioners where either buried in the Old Township Cemetery which was on both sides of Wick Avenue at W. Wood Street The entire cemetery was vacated and the bodies were removed to Oak Hill Cemetery, there are no known records of whom . In Rose Hill Cemetery, the entire cemetery was later vacated and the bodies removed to Calvary Cemetery, or in Oak Hill Cemetery it self. There really is no way of knowing which cemetery since there are no know records. The last burial took place in August 1917 from St. Ann's Church which also used the cemetery from time to time.
