Directions: From US 119, take Route 85 into Danville, Boone County, WV, turn left onto Price Branch Road and immediately turn right onto Marshall Avenue. Cemetery is located on the right on the hill. Access by fourth house on right on Marshall Avenue; path thru back yard into cemetery. Please inform homeowners of your presence if you visit this cemetery.
Cemetery is in extreme disrepair, headstones broken and grounds covered with briars; 40+ graves with only a few legible headstones; several headstones may be readable if cleaned; most are sandstone and deteriorated; this is known to be the Thomas Price Family Graveyard, whom some claim was the first family to settle in this area. (Thomas was the son of Benjamin Price and Nellie Smoot, also early settlers of Boone County.) It is also said this graveyard contains the graves of Price slaves. It would be safe to say there have been no burials in this cemetery for more than a century. If anyone has any further information, I would greatly appreciate it.
