A second transcription was given with unknown connection to the first cemetery named Middle Greenfield by Hayward.
62 MIDDLE GREENFIELD, Parish of Wicklow: Reproduction of a listing donated to the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick in the 1970s, entitled "In Woods, Greenfield"; location, date, donar and data recorder unknown. This list was used to create memorials in a separate cemetery.
62 MIDDLE GREENFIELD Cemetery matches the Pioneer Cemetery. See cemetery picture added by Duane Crabtree, which is for the Pioneer Cemetery.
At the time of the NB Bicentennial in 1984 there were articles in the Hartland Paper about the Pioneer Cemetery and plans to restore it. They received so much grief from the local tenants of the time that they gave up but it was named Pioneer then and probably well before that.
Pioneer was the first cemetery created for the first pioneers that settled Greenfield. 4 of Israel and Susannah Kinney's 7 sons are buried there, as well as some of their offspring and others that originally settled Greenfield and hold the oldest stone dates in Greenfield. Therefore, Pioneer is a more appropriate designation than "in the woods." The Middle Greenfield in the field "by the side of the road", holds the 2nd and 3rd generations of these pioneers as well as a couple more recent contemporaries.
Both of these cemeteries are located on the original 300 acre land grant/purchase of Andrew Kinney, the wooded Pioneer on the very southerly edge abutting John Kilpatrick's land grant.
Thanks to Jerry Kuntz (Anonymous) and Duane Crabtree for additional information and helping me find the correct location of the cemeteries.
