Excerpt from "Old Cemeteries St. Louis County, Mo. Volume 1" by the St Louis Genealogical Society
Fenton Methodist (Gone)
Originally located in the heart of Fenton, this old cemetery was already in poor condition when visited by members of the Cemetery Committee of the St. Louis Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (to whom we are indebted for this listing) about 1950. When St Louis Genealogical Society members went in search of it in the fall of 1981, we learned that the new telephone company building now occupies the site. A visit to the Methodist Church, now at the edge of town, was of little help; we were unable to learn where the cemetery had been relocated. Presumably the cemetery dated from about 1857, when Samuel Taylor Vandover donated land for both cemetery and church. It was the burial place for many of the pioneers of the Fenton area.
--------------
After many days of Intense research it was discovered that the graves were moved en masse to a mass grave located in the rear corner of the Gethsemane section of the Mount Hope Cemetery, 1215 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis County, Missouri. The mass burial site is marked with a solitary marker that reads "TO THE PIONEERS OF FENTON MISSOURI - MAY THEY REST IN PEACE - 1770 - 1934"
