Section 29, Township 41 North, Range 13 West
Osage Township
Miller County, Missouri
Cross the bridge at Tuscumbia on Highway 17. Take Highway 52 toward St. Elizabeth. Go approximately 2.6 miles, and after crossing a second bridge, take the first county road to the north (left). Go 2.55 Miles. Pass the Edwards Family Cemetery. 3.2 miles from Highway 52 you will pass a large red barn on your left. Proceed yet another .3 mile to a burned out house on your right. The ruins are surrounded by a steel and fancy picket fence. Pull in this driveway, and drive to a gate on your right. Proceed on foot over this gate south-southwest up a hillside to the cemetery. It is surrounded by three tiers of quarried rock, has steps and a gate for access. The top of the enclosure wall is fitted with steel pickets. The cemetery is heavily overgrown. The Padgett stone, beautifully engraved, has fallen from its pedestal. One other stone is broken.
We were directed to this cemetery by Terry Luetkemeyer of St. Louis, Missouri, who was vacationing with his uncle.
Inventoried this 27 May 1972 by Carl G. Kelsay of Rocky Mount, Missouri; Stephens N. Barnhouse, U S Army, Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri; August F. Barnhouse of Eldon, Missouri and Terry Luetkemeyer.
