Add PhotosTake Hwy 219.cross I-40 and turn at first road on your left and go to the end of the road. Directly north of the rest stop on I-40 There is a house on the left and the graves are on the right as you turn into their road. The graves cannot be seen in the summer for the tall weeds. James Nichols, the son of Wade Nichols, told us that his grandparents were buried here Craves in a row.
Three built up rock graves
A few rocks-hard to tell how many
Curbing around two graves are thought to be William Nichols and his wife Catherine. Mrs Moore's Diary: William "Bill" Nichols died Jan 9, 1900 (1900 census born July 1841)Catherine (Bond) Nichols died Apr 10, 1917. Mrs.Hallie(King)Vernon of White Oak told us she hitched their horse to a buggy and drove her mother to the funeral of Mrs Nichols (Catherine) Mrs. Vernon said the funeral was at the home and was a few yards from the cemetery. She thinks(Mrs. Vernon) there was a road from from the Wire Road across the now Ozark Lake to the Nichols home.
