(Walter F. Cotton's "Missing Links" book states that Zeno Kelley was buried in the old Bend Cemetery, but Zeno's death Certificate reads "Cidar Creek", thus the cemeteries are one and the same)
Directions: The location of this cemetery is across the road from the Farris Conner, Sr. home site near Comanche Crossing in Mexia.
Drive along the far road that circles Booker T. Washington Park at Comanche. (This is the same road connected to the Comanche bridge). Stay on this road as it curves to the left and stay going forward. This is Limestone County Road #379 (LCR 379).
Keep straight and turn right on LCR 377. Then go down and turn right on LCR 376. Start looking to the left for an abandoned home. This is the old Farris Conner homestead.
As you slowly drive past the Farris Conner homestead, look to the right for some wooden posts situated between some bushes. This is the opening for the old Bend Graveyard (Cemetery).
CONTACT: [email protected] with any questions, etc. about the history of the graveyard, as well as persons buried here.
CAUTION: There are visible paths throughout the cemetery, but due to current condition of the cemetery, it is advisable to visit the cemetery after restoration efforts progress further.
