Believe it to be the old Ward land on the Little Sandy River, where the Salt Works was a main stay in business early Carter County history. First burial in 1825, is of Nancy Smith, wife of William Ward. Became the old Washington Crawford Farm, more recently known as the Greene Prichard Farm. The cemetery requires some restoration and a portion of the fencing restored to keep the cattle out.
