LOCATION - between La Center and Bandana
DIRECTIONS: From La Center take Highway 358 for approx. 3 miles. It is on the left side of the road in a field.
There are a number of unmarked graves.
Located between La Center and Bandana their was once a village known as Robinson or Roberson Town. Several Black families lived there. Robinson/Roberson Town was named in honor of the founder, Allan Roberson.
According to the book, "Ballard's Brave Boys", by M. Juliette Magee, Allen Robinson, a Slave, served in the Civil War with the Union Army. He also owned land from Humphrey's Creek to the corner of Highway 310. The Robinsons cleared the land and built log houses. He left 263 acres to his children when he died in August 1916.
Some of the information about the burials in this cemetery was supplied by Jones Funeral Home in La Center, and by Mundy Funeral Home in Paducah.
NOTE: Depending on the Source, the name Allen is sometimes spelled Allan; and the name Robinson is sometimes spelled Roberson.
