"There WAS a Farmer Cemetery on the Sylvester Newton Farm in the Pittman Creek (more correctly Pittman School) area of Taylor Co. In the 1850's, Sylvester was surrounded by Farmer's. Tradition has it that my GGGG grandfather, William Farmer & most of his children are buried there."
"My Dad was on Okinawa in WWII with Oscar Philpot a neighbor of my Dad's. Oscar died 2 or 3 years ago. Dad went to see Oscar about a year before Oscar died. Dad ask Oscar to take him up to the cemetery. He told Dad that he & his father "hauled them old rocks off years ago". I finally located the cemetery about a month ago. "
"There isn't anything left. A neighbor told me that his father took him down to the cemetery after it had been destroyed & had just been cultivated. He said that you could still see the depressions of the graves there. He said there wasn't any water standing on the graves & he'll never forget how those graves 'glowed'. He said as best as he can remember the cemetery covered about ¾ acre & had about 60 graves in it. ""
I've been up there....there isn't anything left now...... "
* From my friend, Lynn Farmer
Where the cemetery was located prior to it being demolished for farm land:
The Taylor County Historical Society read and recorded Taylor County, Kentucky Cemeteries and the information was published in 1986. The information given at that time was some of the stones at the gravesites had inscriptions on them. As verified by Lynn Farmer, there are no stones present now. The Farmer cemetery was located off county road 634 in Taylor County and the book gives the exact location as 37 degrees 26 minutes 06 seconds x 85 degrees 19 minutes and 21 seconds.
