The Ouzts Cemetery is located on land once owned by William Fletcher Ouzts on Tallahassee Road, in Thomas County Georgia. This land is now part of LongPine Plantation. There are only two marked graves there but a survey by a local historian states that there could be many more graves there. My Uncle Dubs Ouzts (William Franklin Ouzts) use to tend this graveyard as long as he was able, according to the previous overseer of this plantation. There was, at one time, evidence of other gravesites such as broken pottery, wooden cross grave markers, etc... but the recurrent prescribed burnings of the land, along with time in the humid south Georgia climate, have destroyed the wooden markers. There has said to be children of John Clinton Ouzts and Nancy, "Nannie" Hayes to be buried here also.
