On May 29, 1930 during ceremonies held in the nearby armory, the Lilyan Stratton Corbin Memorial Library on East Main Street in Crisfield, Md., was dedicated with a crowd of 300 to 400 people in attendance. This library, endowed by her widowed husband Alfred Oppenheim Corbin, a native of Holland and a banker who took her last name, was closed for the last time May 18, 2016. The Crisfield Public Library across town on Collins Street would hold a grand opening June 4, 2016 and replace the city's first library. Mrs. Corbin's urn remains in the former library.

__________
Prior to the opening of the new Crisfield Public Library, the Lilyan Stratton Corbin Memorial Library served as both a public library and final resting place for Crisfield native, Lillian Stratton Corbin, actress, author and philanthropist.
Although she had made her home in New Jersey, she expressly desired to be buried "amongst the people from whom she came."
In the days following her tragic death, Lillian's husband Alfred O. Corbin visited Crisfield and was struck by the importance of the small library, then located in City Hall, to the residents of Crisfield. He decided a library dedicated in Lillian's name would be a fitting tribute to his wife.
The building was designed by John Corbin, Alfred's son, and built by Mr. John Whittington using only the finest materials. In 1934, Mrs. Corbin's husband arranged to have her remains housed in the library in a bronze urn located in a glassed case opposite her portrait.
On May 20, 2010, Crisfield celebrated the 80th anniversary of the library dedicated to the memory of the hometown girl who made it possible.
