Braley-Simonds Cemetery

"Land purchased in 1796 by John Braley and wife Mary Streeter were they raised 13 children. Land was then sold to Joel and daughter Lydia (Braley) Simond's where they raised their 14 children, in 1864 they sold the place. Joel Simonds gave the land where the cemetery is to Hartford to keep as Simons Family Cemetery in 1853" -Compiled by granddaughter Blanch L. (Judd) Roberts
In 1990 stones were broken and mostly buried. Granite posts show where there was once a wrought iron fence, long gone. It was said that people used the stones for target practice. " Notes from 2nd great granddaughter Priscilla Gadzinski
