Depending on the time period, this cemetery was referred to as the County Farm Burying Ground, the County Poor Farm Cemetery or the County Poor House Cemetery.
Although its exact location is not currently known, this cemetery is apparently located in Montgomery County's Civil District 14, and that is north of Route 49 and about 2 to 3 miles east-northeast of Clarksville.
Another way of describing the location comes from Death Certificates in the 1950s ~ Montgomery County Poor Farm Cemetery, Neptune, Tennessee, Rural Route 1.

Garland Harvey Jarrell (1819-ca 1885) was the one who "keeps poor house" during the 1870 census, at which time there were 6 "paupers," 3 males and 3 females.
By the time of the 1880 census it was Joseph D Burney (ca 1838- ) and there were 11 paupers listed.
The Superintendent of the Poor House/Farm during the 1900 and 1910 census was Thomas W Carrington (born about Apr 1860 TN), while from at least 1920 until early Oct 1945 it was James Timothy Powell (1875-1945).
