In 1993, Alfred Addy gave a map to me, on that map, he marked the location of the Addy and Swygert cemeteries, they were opposite each other on the Big Hollow Creek, in the Cedar Grove area. (RTP)
1) "History of Cedar Grove Community" by J. Ansel Caughman:
page 170:
The first Addy we have any record of was John S. Addy, Sr., 1779-1841. His wife's name was Catherine, 1790-1857. They settled on Big hollow Creek and are buried in the old family plot on what has been known to later generations as the Dr. William L. Addy farm.
page 172:
Dr. William L. Addy (1821-1883) married Caroline Crout (1836-1928). Dr. William L. Addy lived in the Cedar Grove area his entire life. He was a very successful practicing physician, and according to old church records was a leading member of Cedar Grove in his day. Dr. Addy is buried at the old Addy homestead in the old family plot.

John Simeon Addy, Sr., was born January 9, 1779, Lexington County, South Carolina and married about 1804 to Catherine Taylor. Catherine was born May 17, 1789 and died February 16, 1857. Both John and Catherine are buried on the William Lloyd Addy Farm in Lexington County. To their union was born twelve children, some of whom remained in South Carolina, but others who moved to other states.
