Published by The Southern Ohio Genealogical Society, Highland Co., Ohio
Name: AKA COUNTY HOME CEMETERY - See Page 276 of McBride Cemetery Book
Location: Liberty Township
Remarks: This cemetery is on the Highland County Home farm, no longer operating in 1972. The Hillsboro "News Herald" dated Thursday, Jan. 7, 1943, states that Edward Britton is buried here. The "Hillsboro Dispatch" dated Tuesday, Jan. 18, 1916, states that Wm. Taylor, aged 99 years, died Saturday at the Infirmary and was buried here. Thomas Rhoads, brother of the "Lawyer" Henry Rhoads, is also buried here.
According to an old article in the "Press Gazette", the infirmary was closed in 1971.
Later the building was torn down. There may be one gravestone left there. As far as I know, these graves were not moved.
I found the 38 names I have listed here by going to the "Family Search" website, and showing place of death Liberty Twp., Highland Co., Ohio.
